How can therapy help?

Therapy enables you to share your thoughts and feelings with a non-judgemental professional, who can help you gain new perspectives. This new way of looking at life will enable you to connect better with yourself and with others, in order for you to be happier and healthier. You will learn strategies to help you cope better with the stresses of life, and you’ll achieve a greater sense of calm.

How does it work?

Therapy isn’t a quick-fix. It’s a collaborative process involving you (and perhaps your partner), and a qualified therapist. Central to the process is:
 Trusting and feeling confident in your therapist
 Being honest and open regarding your thoughts, feelings, needs, and concerns
 Committing to the process and being willing to try new solutions.

How long does each therapy session take?

Each Individual session is 50 minutes long. Couple's sesions and EMDR sessions can run from 50-80 minutes.

What’s included in my FREE 20-minute phone consultation

During our initial chat, we will discuss what your needs are and what kind of help you’re looking for. I will also provide you with a broad overview of my services. During this introductory phone call, we will establish if we are a good fit.

What happens before our session?

Prior to our first session, I will send you a questionnaire to fill in, so I have some more detailed background information before our first session.

What can I expect at my first session?

Our first session will provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other and to create a safe space for you to share with me. We’ll discuss why you’ve come to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any concerns you might have. This session is very important in establishing our working relationship, and how I can best support you.

Of course, the pace at which we proceed is up to you. So, if you have any urgent or pressing
matters we need to discuss, we will focus on that.

Do you accept Insurance?

I am not a provider on insurance panels. However, insurance companies will reimburse for treatment of emotional or mental illness that meet their conditions. Please contact your insurance company in advance to determine your rebate. Upon request, we can provide monthly superbills that include all the information necessary for insurance reimbursement at the beginning of each month.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your appointment, I will require 24 hours’ notice. This will enable me to give your appointment time to someone else who may need it. I charge a full session fee for any no-shows, cancellations, or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hours’ notice. Your credit card will automatically be charged in these cases. If we have no credit card details on file, the fee for missing your session will be due at the beginning of your next session.
